Torchwood seasons 1-2
As a spin-off of Dr. Who which I didn’t care for, this series produced by the BBC is one excellent Sci-Fi program. The program involves a lot of intregue in that you don’t see some things coming. Buy this product if you like actors who are believeable, enjoy a well written script and a series that once you get hooked you can’t wait to watch more.
Torchwood is a British science fiction television programme, created by Russell T Davies. It deals with the machinations and activities of the Cardiff branch of the fictional Torchwood Institute, who deal mainly with incidents involving extraterrestrials. An initial 13-part series was commissioned by the BBC as a spin-off from the 2005 revival of the long-running science fiction programme Doctor Who with which it is closely interlinked. The main cast consists of John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Burn Gorman, Naoko Mori and Gareth David-Lloyd. Gorman and Mori left the programme after the second series, with Kai Owen promoted from a recurring role to the main cast in series 3.
The programme is produced in-house by BBC Wales. The Head of Drama at the time of the first season, Julie Gardner, serves as executive producer alongside Davies. (Julie Gardner is currently both Controller of Drama Commissioning at BBC Television and Head of Drama for BBC Wales.) The first two episodes of Series 1 of Torchwood premiered on 22 October 2006 on BBC Three and BBC HD. Series 2 premiered on BBC Two and BBC HD on 16 January 2008. The third series, a five part mini-series entitled Torchwood: Children of Earth, aired on BBC One and BBC HD between 6 July and 10 July 2009.

Angel Season 1-5
Angel is a darker more adult version of Buffy. Over the course of the show the charachters grow and change, and all of it feels natural. The charachters evolve as you would expect them to with the situations they go through. One of the great things about Joss Whedon shows is even the supporting charachters are well thought out.
Season 1, Perhaps need a little time to understand.
Season 2 & 3 might be the best seasons in television history. Granted, you appreciate them much more had you been a Buffy fan and are familiar with the lore. It cannot be stated enough, these are amazing seasons.
Season 4, was different. A lot of people will point to this is the beginning of the end for the show. It has a lot of good things about it, but you could tell that off screen things affected this season. (This was the year Joss Whedon went off to do Firefly, and helped more with the last season of Buffy, so it has always been my opinion that Angel didn’t get enough of his attention.)
Season 5 was a GREAT way to end the show. It has some of the best individual episodes of the entire series. “Thank You” will have you in tears. And the final episode of the series has you crying because it’s over and you want it to keep going.

The King of Queens
The King of Queens : The Complete Set DVD
In this comedy, the comedian Kevin James as Doug Heffernan, a ‘big & tall’ man from Queens, NY, who works as an IPS delivery man (supposed to be like UPS). He lives with his beautiful, but brash wife Carrie (Leah Remini) and her quirky elderly dad Arthur (Jerry Stiller – who played George Costanza’s father on Seinfeld). The series was a spin-off from CBS’s mega-hit comedy Everybody Loves Raymond and the cast of that show has made appearances on King of Queens. King of Queens also had a great supporting cast, being the launching pad for comedian Patton Oswalt, who played Doug’s lonely nerd of a friend. Each episode peaks into a moment of their lives and their friendships and for 9 amazing years we grew to love the Heffernans.
The show is funny like I’ve said but the love on the show is remarkable also. Even though you know it’s just make believe TV love you really get the sense that these characters love each other. Doug and Carrie with all their faults still at the core truly love the hell out of each other, and it’s the kind of “can’t live without you even though you drive me nuts” love that we all envy.
It’s funny, it’s touching, it’s sweet and I’m very sad that it’s not around anymore. But hey at least we got DVDs and 9 great seasons to get us through.
Thanks for your commments
